Pensacola chiropractic care helps control chronic back pain that causes pain beyond the back and into life that keeps sufferers from enjoying their lives.

Back pain patients come to Pensacola Spinal Rehab Center with all different types issues. Some walk better than others. Some have better muscles than others. Some are more susceptible to depression than others. Your Pensacola chiropractor understands this and meets each back pain patient where s/he is and assesses each patient to find the difference(s) that make all the difference when putting together an alleviating chiropractic treatment plan. Tests like the 6-minute walk test that evaluates the distance walked in 6 minutes and the TUG (‘time up to go’ from a seated position) test can be quite informative of musculoskeletal and cardiovascular health in degenerative lumbar spine patients. Both may be triggered by back pain. (1) Back muscles that weaken and turn fatty (like the multifidus muscle tends to do) signify issues with inflammatory and regeneration processes. (Back surgeons do not like this as a inferior surgical outcome is possible.) (2) Chiropractors get this and encourage gentle exercise for these back muscles as a component of the treatment plan to avert recurrent back pain that some lumbar disc degeneration sufferers experience. A new study described that those who tend to get recurrent back pain were found to move differently, more causiously, likely to avoid pain. Recurrent back pain patients also suffered with higher levels of anxiety, depression, and disability as well as a reduced quality of life. (3) Your Pensacola chiropractor welcomes all back pain sufferers with all their peculiarities. Your chiropractor teams up with with each one throughout the current back pain event and beyond to control the back pain (emotional, physical and mental features), so it does not control them.

Listen to this PODCAST with Dr. Nike Taylor on The Back Doctors Podcast with Dr. Michael Johnson on how she helps a chronic back pain patient in the middle of a recurrent episode of back pain via the Cox® Technic System of Spinal Pain Management to find relief and a sense of control over back pain to minimize recurrent back pain episodes as much as possible.

Chronic Pensacola back pain may be helped by olfactory training which uses smelling scents to desensitize the sufferer to the pain.

Pensacola CHIROPRACTIC TIP OF THE MONTH:

SMELLING SCENTS TO LESSEN PAIN!

An interesting study of chronic low back pain patients found that odor-training helped reduce their pain thresholds. Regular exposure (every two hours in the research project) to scents like rose, vanilla, peach and chocolate – olfactory training! - helped ease pain. The researchers suggested that it may help reduce pain chronification and quite possibly control general pain via desensitization. (4) What a pleasant addition this could be to the Cox® Technic System of Spinal Pain Management! You may want to try smelling some good scents yourself!
